1. Information we handle

You can browse jobs and read the blog without creating an account. If you use other features, we handle the information needed to provide them:

• Accounts: your name, email address, hashed password, email verification status, organization memberships and account permissions.
• Organizations and jobs: the profile details, descriptions, application destinations, location and salary information you submit, along with drafts, publication dates and moderation feedback.
• Editorial content: article text, author names and images supplied by our editors.
• Messages: information you include when emailing us and our replies.
• Technical and security information: IP addresses, browser and request details, session identifiers and records of administrative or moderation actions, where needed to operate and protect the service.

Approved job listings, organization details and published articles are public. They can be indexed by search engines and shared by others. Keep private personal information out of content intended for publication.

2. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, reset passwords, manage organizations, review and publish listings, deliver service notifications, answer questions and investigate abuse or technical problems.

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, these uses support providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and trustworthy marketplace, and complying with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent for an optional use, you can withdraw that consent.

3. Cookies and browser storage

We use session cookies to keep you signed in and a security cookie to protect forms against forged requests. Our security provider, Cloudflare, may also use cookies to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. Blocking these cookies can prevent sign-in or other protected features from working.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and clear them at any time. Signing out ends your authenticated session. The site does not require an account for public job discovery.

4. Service providers and sharing

Providers process information needed to deliver their part of the service:

• DigitalOcean: hosting the application and database.
• Cloudflare: handling website traffic, content delivery and protection against abuse.
• Brevo: delivering account verification, password reset and other service emails, using recipient addresses and message content.

Authorized team members access information as needed for support, moderation and administration. We may disclose relevant information where required by law or needed to address fraud, misuse or a security incident.

Our hosting and providers may process information across borders. Applicable data protection requirements govern those transfers.

5. Applying for a job

Applications go to the website or email address supplied by the employer. Code&Write does not collect CVs or application documents through an on-site application form. Information you send to an employer is handled under that employer's privacy practices. Review those practices before sending an application.

6. Storage, security and retention

We use encrypted website connections, hashed passwords and access controls to protect information. No system can guarantee complete security.

Account and organization records are kept while needed to provide your account and manage its listings. Listing history and moderation or administrative records may be kept after a listing closes to resolve disputes, investigate abuse and preserve accountability. Support correspondence is kept while needed to handle the issue and any follow-up.

Retention depends on the purpose of the record, whether the account or issue remains active, security needs and any applicable legal obligations. Deleting or removing content from public view does not necessarily remove it immediately from internal records, search engine caches or backups. Backup copies remain until replaced or removed through the backup retention cycle.

7. Your choices and requests

You can update organization details in your dashboard. To request access to your personal information, correct account details, request a copy or ask for account deletion, email us from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive portable copies of information, withdraw consent and complain to your local data protection authority. Some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons; we will explain any applicable limitation when handling your request.

Service emails support account security and listing administration. They are separate from optional marketing subscriptions.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page as the service or its information practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes affecting account information will be communicated through the site or account email.
